Euthanasia, which means "Good Death" in Greek, refers to the practice of intentionally ending a life to relieve pain and suffering.

Deciding that euthanasia is the best option for your pet can be one of the hardest decisions you will ever have to make.  Making this decision, however, will allow your pet to have a dignified, peaceful, and painless end.

At Renfrew Animal Hosptial you have a number of options for euthanasia.  If you feel your pet will be more comfortable at home in their own environment, we can perform a home euthanasia.  Euthanasia services are also available in the hospital, where you are welcome to stay for the procedure and spend as long as you would like with your pet.

If euthanasia is not the right option for you, we also provide hospice services for palliative care in your own home with our mobile service.  We will ensure that your pet has adequate nursing and pain control, as well as provide information and support for your family.

Our caring staff will be able to explain your aftercare options which include home burial and cremation.  We use Gateway Pet Memorial (www.gatewaypetmemorial.com) for our cremation services.
